Written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer,

Director: Zack Snyder

Actors: Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot.

Even before i watched the movie i heard the bad reviews. So obviously i had to watch alot of Gotham first in order to prepare for the darkness that was in this film.

Let me clarify a few things first. Yes, the film lacks colour and is largely dark with a lot of CGI. Yes, Ben Affleck failed at being Batman even after i gave him the benefit of the doubt and the people who gave spoilers of the film before we watched it should frankly just stick to Marvel films and Chick flicks.
The fights are undeniably awesome, that bat suit is a thing of beauty enabling Batman to ever so slightly bridge the gap between him and superman, by maybe 0.1%. The wonder woman casting felt a little short in terms of height for me. Yes i do know that is not a valid critique point but i always think of a really tall woman since you know, she is Amazonian.

The story is told from the view of an average person looking upon gods, monsters and billionaires duking it out in the name of saving humanity. As dull as it was i think that is what a Batman and Superman film would look like. I feel like the film would have been worse if Zack Snyder went the marvel way.

Batman’s story cannot be told in a light tone. Neither can the events that happen to the people who live in a world where superman and Zod fight in. It was maybe a bit too dark but Zack Snyder had the right idea. The execution was a little bit wanting.

On to the story, it starts two years after fight between Superman and General Zod that resulted in the death of Zod and the saving of mankind but at the loss of thousands of lives. Batman is convinced that superman will be the end of the world and so is Lex Luthor. Difference is, one is paranoid while the other is nuts. Literally you can see dozens of loose bolts in Luthors mind as he attempts to find a way to destroy superman and any other extra terrestrial being. Superman on the other hand is trying to be part human and part saviour. The two idiots namely Batman and Lex Luthor create the conflict and the premise of the story.

Its IMDb rating is 7/10 while on rotten tomatoes it is 36%. It is a good movie but not a great one. One thing is clear, there will be a follow up movie.
